McDowell Quilt Trail

The McDowell County Quilt Trail Program is sponsored by the McDowell Arts Council Association. The trail program began in June 2009 as part of a grassroots interest to extend the Quilt Trail of Western North Carolina to McDowell County. As work to establish quilt blocks between Nebo and Old Fort continues, the Quilt Trail Committee is actively seeking support from local organizations, businesses, and citizens.

Quilt trail items such as lapel pins, car decals, maps, book marks, magnets, and tote bags are available in the MACA Gallery Gift Shop. There are now more than 15 blocks throughout the county. To get a glimpse of a few visit the Marion Shade Shelter, Old Fort Depot, MACA, or the Historic Carson House. A map showing the location of all the quilt blocks is available to purchase at MACA. Visit www.mcdowellquilttrail.org for more information and photos, call 652-8610, or stop by MACA to pick up a host application.
