DIY Face Masks
máscara de bricolaje covid19
Cloth DIY masks are not meant to replace PPE, and while they do provide more protection than not wearing a mask or a simple bandana, they are not as effective as N95 masks which should be prioritized for healthcare workers. Wearing a mask does not mean you can forego social distancing requirements, hand-washing, or other protective measures. Please take care of yourselves and be kind.
-
These cloth masks have an interior pocket where a filter or surgical mask can be added (such as a coffee filter or shop cloth). Please make sure any filter you add does not contain harmful materials. These masks can also be used to cover N95 masks to extend the life of those masks.
It is now recommended that we all exercise this precaution any time we need to go into the public.

This two-layer mask patter is simple and can be hand sewn or sewn via sewing machine. It is shaped for easy breath-ability and can be worn over a surgical or N95 mask. PDF of instructions and pattern here.

Pleated mask covers for N95 masks or surgical masks. Can be altered to provide a pocket to include a filter (such as a coffee filter). PDF of pattern here.
