"Young At Art" Summer Art Camp

Art Camp Exhibit/Reception June 2008Art Camp Exhibit/Reception June 20082010 Summer Art Camp TBA. A gallery show and reception for the young artists and their families will be held the following week. This week long camp is filled with an assortment of activities specially designed for children ages 5 to 10. Past classes included how to make sock puppets, basket weaving, clay art, batik, watercolors, music, yoga and more. Morning snacks provided. 2010 classes TBA.

Regional Artist Program Grant (RAP-G)

The Regional Artist Project Grant provides financial support to a wide variety of artists exhibiting exceptional talent in an effort to assist them and their professional career. This grant is intended to fund a particular project that will take place between 2010 dates TBA. Applications and guidelines will be posted mid-summer 2010.

NC Grassroots Grant

Arts Council created the Grassroots Arts Program to increase the state's already growing number of local arts councils and to help establish North Carolina as a leader in the national community arts movement. Grassroots funds support the arts council and local arts organizations.

Mountain Arts Program

Mr. Mickey at Nebo Elementary SchoolMr. Mickey at Nebo Elementary SchoolThe Mountain Arts Program (MAP) consists of North Carolina artists in residencies in McDowell County elementary schools for one week. Students learn many mediums and disciplines from these talented artists including storytelling, fiber and paper arts, folk music, creative dramatics, writing, poetry, drawing, painting, sculpture, origami, and harmonica.
