Newest Partner Materials Showcase Art in McDowell County!
ALL MCDOWELL COUNTY MATERIALS ON DIGITALNC
In Fall of 2023 our friends at the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center (DigitalNC.org) partnered with us to digitize the first batch of McDowell Arts Council Association archival materials. These materials offer insight into MACA's early years as an organization, printed publications, photographs, original art, correspondences, and much more. This digital format is intended to preserve and share these materials for current and future generations to enjoy. 

Featured materials include publications:

- Mt. Ida Meditation by Alice Koonts Ostrom (1973)
- Voices in the Wind: A Play Celebrating the Sesquicentenntial of McDowell County, North Carolina, USA by Billy Edd Wheeler (1993)
- MACA Musings: McDowell County Poetry Spring Festival [1974]
- Grassroots [Volume 1] (1983)
- Grassroots: McDowell County's Biggest Lies and Liars [Volume 4] (1986) 

Scrapbooks in this collection include:

The Permanant Collection at MACA

McDowell Arts Council Association maintains a permanent collection of original art that holds historic and cultural significance to McDowell County, NC. All artwork in this collection has been donated by individuals in our community, families of artists, and artist estates who wish to promote and preserve our arts. We hope that these artworks inspire your creativity.
